From nature to global beauty: prickly pear seed oil
At the heart of this transformation is prickly pear seed oil, extracted from Opuntia ficus-indica, widely cultivated in the country’s arid and semi-arid regions. This oil has become the hallmark ingredient of Tunisian cosmetics, celebrated for its potent antioxidant, anti-aging, and regenerative properties.
The production process is meticulous and resource-intensive: approximately 30 kg of seeds, obtained from nearly one ton of fruit, are needed to yield just one liter of cold-pressed oil, preserving its full biological integrity. Rich in vitamin E, essential fatty acids (Omega 6 and 9), and sterols, the oil supports skin barrier regeneration, improves elasticity, and protects against oxidative stress.
